What’s Decatur Twisted? Read on to hear what’s in store.

Decatur Twisted started out as a companion magazine to the “New Orleans Natural Hair Expo (#NONHE)!” Yes, the #NONHE had an actual magazine. It was one of those things that I always wanted to do, but couldn’t quite figure out how to pull it off. Then one day the infamous “lightbulb moment” happened, and Decatur Twisted was born. So, I grabbed the domain name via GoDaddy, secured the trademark, and purchased a few magazine templates. Ya’ll I had no idea what I was doing, but I was determined to get it done.

It was a place to showcase ads for the brands that supported the #NONHE, and chat with our favorite creatives. It’s been a while since the last issue of Decatur Twisted, and lately, I have been brainstorming ideas on exactly how I could bring it back. Mostly, importantly bringing it back in a way that’s enjoyable to do.

So, here I am on May 29, 2020 (12:40 AM) writing my first blog post for Decatur Twisted. I hope you all will join me on this ride. We will chat about all things “woman!” From motherhood to self-care, and of course shopping. I promise “I GOT YOU!” If you’re struggling to start something, my advice is to just do it. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be great. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be informative. Finally, taking my own advice, and though it is scary, it’s liberating.

I would love to know what you all would like to hear/read about. I’ve already received some requests for event planning tips, and again “I GOT YOU!” Now, let’s get this party started.
